Past week

Wow, this post is most definitely long overdue.  Thanks to all of you who continue to read my blog; it's nice to see the number of pageviews go up and up!  I'll try to keep up my end of the deal and write more frequently.  My classes started last week, but there was a lot of confusion about my schedule, so the first few days were rather stressful.  On Thursday, though, I got an email announcing a change to one of my classes, and suddenly everything worked out perfectly!  I'm taking three class (Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, and African American History) and managed to have no classes on Tuesdays or Fridays.  What a change from my schedule at Iowa State!  On Wednesday, Rachael, Nicole, Jessica, Cory, and I went to Chiquito in the City Centre for dinner; the food was amazing, as was the company.  I spent much of the week working on the paper for my British Culture and Politics class.  I love the library here, and at one point I had 9 books checked out from there to use for my paper.  Mom and Krista proofread it for me, so I turned in a polished version this morning.

I just had one class today, so I was able to turn in my paper, take a nap, and return most of the library books before heading off to the City Centre for some grocery shopping.  I used two pounds of my "fun money" from Mom and Dad to buy a pair of gray shoes (Keds knock-offs, basically).  I can't wait to wear them, most likely with my Scottie dog socks from Krista.  I also picked up some Welsh cakes at a bakery stand in the Swansea market.  They are a sort of pastry with raisins in them, and I tried my first one as I was walking to Tesco.  It was warm and fresh and soooo tasty!

Welsh cakes- so delicious!
